Bracknell Queen Bees

Match Report

Swindon TopCats v Queen Bees - 23rd September 2007

The Queen Bees extended their season winning streak to 3 games on Sunday with a 9-1 win away at Swindon TopCats in a challenge match.

The Queen Bees travelled to face the current Division One champions in a warm-up match for next weekend’s road trip to Newcastle and Kingston-upon-Hull with only 8 players and a goaltender due to sicknesses and work commitments but put in a fine performance to dominate their hosts.

Dani Summers (3), Sam Phillips (3), Sam Bidmead (2) and Lydia Westcombe all found the net for the Queen Bees whilst Rhian Galea faced 28 shots from Swindon in the Bracknell net.

Queen Bees’ player-of-the-match was Chrissy Newman.

The Queen Bees now look to maintain their position at the top of the Women’s Premier League with their trip north next weekend facing Newcastle at 4:30pm on Saturday and Kingston at 12:30pm on Sunday.
